Description
Learning English as a second language is an essential part of development for students who move to the United States of America. There are undeniable obstacles that both students and educators experience when trying to adapt educationally. This caused me to research strategies that educators should use when teaching a second language learner. There are four elements that will be discussed that will benefit teachers and students. Incorporating all four elements can be turned into a lesson. In the real world, the four concepts are integrated when receiving information, so exposing students to the multiple ways of learning can prepare them for navigating the country that they are currently in. Furthermore, acknowledging the cultural diversity of one’s students allows students to be open to different perspectives. Therefore, the importance of utilizing a diverse strategy is shown through this research project especially since the classroom is full of individuals from different backgrounds and fluency levels.
