Abstract

Nurse practitioners provide health care in a variety of settings, which can be subdivided into two broad categories: collaborative practice, indicating physician and nurse practitioner practice in the same setting, and independent practice, indicating physician preceptor not in the same facility. This study’s purpose was to determine if differences exist in practice patterns of nurse practitioners in collaborative and independent practice.
