Dear Mother,
21 APR 1944
I really have it easy this afternoon. All
I have to do is sit in a shack by a phone
and answer it It if happens to ring, which 
it never does.
I got the song books and we have 
been having a pretty good time with 
them. All the boys in my hut like my
type of singing except a Newyork Jew 
and we nearly razz him to death. 
The weather here has really been 
beautiful lately. The days here are 
the longest I ever saw. 
I started to write an air mail letter
 but I dicided that I coulden't think
of enough to write. 
I don't know where Vick Sr. is and 
have no way of finding out.
