Dear Mother, 
I have nothing to write about but as I have


nothing else to do I will try to think of 
something. It is Saturday afternoon and we have
the afternoon off. I am broke and can't go to
town so it is pretty dull around here. We get
paid tomorrow in English money. 
It is damp and foggy today of course. The sun
came out real pretty for a while. There
wasn't a cloud in the sky so I decided to
wash some clothes and hang them out


when I got through washing there wasn't 
a blue spot in the sky. 
We have inspection every Sat we have to 
have our clothes clean, fresh hair cuts, shave, 
and clean shoes etc. Our guns have to be
spotless and we really have to do a lot of 
work on them. I passed O.K. this morning. 
We get a paper in the barricks everyday
and get to keep up with the news. The 
news looks mighty good now. 
Well that all the room.
