Dear Chris,
I don't know where you are now, so I guess
I'll just have to send this letter home. I did
enjoy your interesting letter. I can't imagine
how you must hare felt when Benard come.
I guess that must have been your thrill 
in a life time. I would have laved seeing
him and talking to hem. How does he look?
Have you heard from him since yas left.
I have been taking in the fors this 
week. I had quite a goy time, vera was riding
in the "Big Apple and she fell down and 
cut her elhou, sthe man had to stop the thim
and there was no little exectment. We went
last night and wound in and out among
all the negroes. Wera's sister is visiting us 
for the week end. She's married and is real
cute and lot of fun. She's just so, but has
been marrced two years. We went with
wera and her heaw. Clars (the sister, spent
most of her time and money betting on
the mouse. Yera won ( th bacon.
I wert passum hunting Friday night and
came in with two spinned shind. Ddad a 
date and two other Corifles went along oned
marreed couple. The man pnished at State
and his home is arignalty
Columbus. He told
me some wvild tales about
slipping Kals
Coody and some other girls
but at Night when


they wvere in school. Thot was before be morried
I'll bet we walked at least four miles before it was 
over, and we didn't even so much as see one
I passum. The dogs thought they had treed one
but when it came to a show down, there wasn't 
any passum us there The boy I was with asked
me for a date tonight, but I dold him I had
something else to do - which I hadven't - so far, but 
he wasnt the appealing tppe. I've Lated clifford.

to miye surprise, I got a letter from him
yesterday telling me that he didn't want 
me to think of hem as the land lady's
off spring but as an arden't asmeser. He 
told me to write him my sertiments. He 
is not as ald as I am and really seems
to me younger than he iso to be front,
I'm afraid I have thought of him only as 
the landladys offspring. I don't khow 
how I'm going to ansiver he, letter. Loads

Friday, We got a half hotiday for the 
fair. We had to march with the school
kids to town, and I'm telling you the 
trith. I think a drove of lttle would
have been more monaglable. It was 
all ouon at 1:00 o' clock. I went to the 
show Friday afternoon to see Having a 
Honderful Time which was rather 
Challow and eenlightening I've only been 
to the show thice since I've been here 
I bought me a pretty gray pair of 
shoes and a gay purse sthat's all the 


clothes I've bought since I've ben here, but 
my money has gotten away from me some way.
I'm going home next week end, Shope. Thursday
afternoon, We get off for the sede forr and 
I'm going to get a ecain to Jacksen Thur. Afternoon
I'll protably go to the foir with may that night.
Friday morning Ill try to shop some. I wan't
to get mea lobt. iIf possible, I'll leave Jackson
Friday afternoon and go on home I'l really 
be glad to see the folks. of course, it wont 
seem natural without you and Bernice being
there. 
sometimes I get rather discuriged with
school teaching. The stidents are so bad 
don't think tly respect me as they should.
The othes teachers seem to have trouble too.
one of the gto grade bays asked me for a 
date. He's the oney pupil in school that i 
intencely distes. Heo the most insolent thing
I have ever seen. Last weekwas test week
so I got some pretty flowersffrom varous
onls. 
vera baruight a cute little radis last
week, so we have been enjoying the music
and the Worlds series. I must write to Bernice,
so before I get tired writing I had better
