M.S.C.W Friday Night Dear Chris, I've first finished reading the story of "The Three Sillies" to Carolyn. It is in my Child Lit book and is very entertaining for younger children. Both Carolyn and I enjoyed it to the fullest. You should read it. I will get a box in the morning and send your black suede shoes. I really didn't need them and haven't worn them since Ive been here. Kate and I were invited to a buffet supper out at Miss Mattie's tonight, but I didn't have time to get a permit and would have had to plead with Miss Tern to let me go; so rather than fool with that, I just gave up the idea. Kate couldn't go, because she had to work in the House You should see the dancing they do up here this year. I've never seen anything to beat it. I can't describe it to you. They walk a few steps arm in arm, then they face each other and dance again; then dance walk again. I'm afraid that doesnt give you a very vivid picture. I want to learn to do it, but I don't have much hope. They also started doing what they called The "Big Apple," but were asked to quit doining it until further notice. A whole crowd gets in a circle and starts trucking. Some one in the center is also trucking (By the way, Im trying to have that too)- trucking, I mean). Some one calls the set - similar to the way they do in square dancing. I'm teaching out at New Hope. I go at 1:00 o'clock. The classes are from 1:00- 3:30. I will teach my first lesson a week from today Im to teach clothing. For my first lesson, I'm going to have to give an exhibit an apppropriate school clothes. I went to the show the other day and saw " Last Horizon" Ronald Coleman, Margo, I don't know who else played. It was very dramatic, but also very good. I had a date with a boy from State the other night, but I didn't like him because his ears were dirty. Kate had a date with Luke last Saturday night. He gave her a small snap shot of himself Mildred Carter is leaving school in the morning. She's going to marry Jimmie Newman. They're going to live at Pace, Miss; where he has a farm. Miss Tomm asked me to remember her to you. She also asked me if I were a sophomore. I'd rather be a freshman than a sophomore. They think they're so smart. Chris, I hope you will get to liking teaching a little better, because I know if you don't, it's going to be hard for you to endure it eight months. Please don't be so unhappy. I will get your shoes to you as soon as possible. Love, Martha Box 1048 M.S.C.W Miss Christine Smith Rose Hill, Mississippi
