Dear Sweetheart
I would have written you
yesterday but tonight I was going to get
to see YOU tonight
I am sorely disappointed. Jo Patterston
told me yesterday Finley	G[illegible] was
going home this afternoon and asked
me if I wanted to go with him and I
told him if it were not imposing I
would. G[illegible] came to me at the 
Edwards this morning and told me he
would see me at my room at noon
and advise me what time he could
leave. I waited till 2PM. and he 
did not show up. I then went to To[illegible]
Bldg when he works but could not find
him but said Tom Patterson 5PM
and he said Finley still intended to 
go home and would come by after
 me it is now 7P.M. and one more
Air Castle has fallen.

and I am some lonesome to -
I don't really mind it so much when
I am required to be busy and on the 
alert- but I had just as soon be
in sch[illegible] bottom alone as here
unoccupied - We have accomplished
nothing this week as to legislature. I
think though things will git warm
the incoming week - I am of the opinion
the convention will come to the front.
The House and Senate are apparently
so closely divided I can not tell
what is going to happen I do not
believe the Senate would vote the measure
to day but every influence is being
brought to hear and the Pro convention
crowd having the Adms. - the money and
jobs - some may fall into temptation
They seem to me - determined to
scuttle the ship of State

In the event a convention is voted
I don't think I will take much
further interest in legislature
for the present as - I shall deem
it useless.
I hope you are all well.
I am going to write to the girls tomorrow
and will write you again early in 
the week. I am coming home week-
end unless my duties prevent -
I have attended four Com. meeting this
week - one committee's [illegible] above that
took up - two entire afternoons and
into one night - and will repeat
next week- in all probability-
I am sorry there is nothing in
this letter but I am mad-disappointed
and blue - but I love you, truly yes I do-
