" Dear Sweatheart"
I certainly hope you are no
wose disappointed that I am that I
failed to get home tonight for my intentions
and expectations have been toward that
end all week.
There is one faction that is wanting
to get away from here now and
your[s] TRULY is one among that
member.
The other faction in trying now
to hold on until we are worn
out and forced to leave in order
to pass a few measures that according
to my own are victorious. 
We whipped them (temporarily)
today - and I think the chances
now good that we will adjoin
on 14 [illegible]

The crowd that is holding on or
rather delaying - went to pass a 
measure to practically do away
with the highway commisioners
who are elected by the people and
give the Gov [illegible] to apparent
a director who in reality will
be a dictator - and means that
all road building will be for the
use and benefit of the "big fellows"
while every body is paying the tax.
The Senate worked until 530 today,
I would have come home anyway
but the House and the Senate have
failed to agree on the Bailey Gas'
bill - and the matter is now in
The hands of a Conference Com, 
composed of three from each body
and I am one among them.

We met at 230 today but failed
to agree as Bailey stacked his Com.
on the part of the House with
a jury who went to destroy the
bill by amending to the extent
that the bootleggers go unrestrained
and I fear we can not agree
We are to meet again Sun.
evening, the Finance com will
also probably meet tomorrow
to review the appropiation bills
passed by the House today
so you can readily see your
"distinguished' and almost
"extinguished" writer is pretty
well tired out at present
but there is the consolation that
we are not very far from the end.

Don't be too "lonesome" cause
we will love each other good when
I do get home
I am glad everything is as well
as it is - with us it could be
so much worse
my back - is still sore from the
effects of my wreck and I and going
to the chiropactor Tomorrow have
not had time this week - I went last
Sat. he is a nice fellow would not
charge me anything - in fact the
M.D.s were trying to legislate the
"King" out of business and when he
found out I was family toward
them he was "awfully nice"
Am going to rest till Mon. and
I have had no time off this week
I am sorry this session has 
been so long for several reasons

but am glad I came - I feel that
I have made good I am not
afraid to face my constituants
with my record - and I have
the respect of the Senate
I had a row one day this week
where the very able brilliant
astute and absolutely [illegible]
John Culkin in order to carry
his paint made a statement from the
floor that I challanged as a 
personal reflection - I demanded
an apology or a settlement of the
affront personally and the apology
was forth coming. He has been
very courteous since and sought
a  private discussion of the matter
which I declined.

Was sorry to hear of Neil Wrights
affliction guess he is about
finished - his cause - no great
national [illegible] but I am sorry
for him
Saw Anna Bay on streets yesterday
but did not have your letter and
could not think what you wanted
her to get - but guess I will see her
next week - and put the deal over.
Be sweet - (I know you will) and
remember - you don't know how much
I love You - nor never will
Will unite Mon "nite" Love for each
Kiddie - (tell them for me)
