Tuesday evening -
Dear "Sweet heart"
I had intended inviting your [illegible] "nite"
had me arranged on Mon. eve and there
had a [illegible] of 3 "percentiles" at Edwards
untill 11 P.M. midnight mail was there
gave and I have really had no time
till now, again The Senate had not
taken up the matter of the invite
to Coat till this eve The Senate
accepted the invitation as a 'badge'
I don't know how many will go,
The party is scheduled to [illegible] "[illegible]"
Sat morning and I am not sure whether
The [illegible] will be sun night or
Mon morning, would be awful glad you
came, come as I really don't [illegible] about
going if you don't go as I have seen
that [illegible] try before and am not 
particularly "sold" on exursions 
anyway.

certainly do hope Martha has missed
her fever and is "coming back"
make her take care of herself
until she is stronger,
If she is not improving get Dr. 
to see her again and tell her, I
will come to see her Fri night, 
We have [illegible] all day over the 
Sales Tax. We will vote tomorrow on
the final passage of the bill
amended to a 3; sale we have 
a majority but will have none to 
spare of the necessary 3/5 to pass a
xx measure we cannot win
by our 2 votes and may lose by 2 
I am not really [illegible] much which
way it goes- move them I would 
like very much to wind up the 
session as we get nothing more
for a longer stay.

measure fails to become a law

our forces tonight in order 
to further prolong for the final
battle tomorrow.
"Jo" is looking very serious and

by virtue of his exalted position
and is bearing up well under the

his constituents "Who know not

N.R. says he is leaving out not
many days hence and not coming
back.
